Following a 44-run deficit in the first innings, Pakistani bowlers dismissed four Bangladeshi batsmen for 39 runs in the top order.
After a fantastic opening stand of 133 runs between Pakistani batsman Abid Ali and Bangladeshi spinner Abdullah Shafiq at Zahoor Ahmed Stadium in Chittagong, Bangladesh, the Pakistani squad was unable to cope with the Bangladeshi bowler. Scored 286 runs in response to the runs and returned to the pavilion.
The third day of the first of two Tests between Pakistan and
Bangladesh has ended. Surprisingly, the bowlers had a good day today, taking 14
wickets on the field.
Tejul Islam of Bangladesh bowled excellently, conceding 116
runs for the cost of seven wickets. Mehdi Hassan led one player to the pavilion
while Ibadat Hussain grabbed two wickets.
Pakistan's fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was removed
for 44 runs, helped to mitigate the setback by removing three Bangladeshi
players early in the innings. Hassan Ali, on the other hand, has further harmed
Bangladesh by removing one player.
The Bangladesh squad had scored 39 runs before the
conclusion of the third day, with four players out, and an overall advantage of
83 runs. For 12 and 8 runs respectively, Mushfiqur Rahim and Yasir Ali are not
out.
Mominul Haq was Hassan Ali's first victim, facing two balls
and being out without scoring a run.
In six overs, Shaheen Afridi claimed three wickets. Saif
Hassan scored 18 runs, and his third victim was his catch.
