It's not the first time an Indian politician has made a comparison between the country's infrastructure and a Bollywood actor.
When politicians compare women's physical characteristics to
men, it's nothing new. Several ministers have linked trucks, trollies, and now
highways to women in desi civilizations. Now,
A freshly elected
Indian lawmaker is facing backlash after comparing Bollywood actress Katrina
Kaif's cheeks to the state's roadways. Rajendra Singh Gudha, a Rajasthan
minister, has been chastised after his comments on the topic went viral.

in his assembly seat in a video that has gone viral.
Some people demand that the roads in the region be fixed
while venting their frustrations to Gudha.
"In my constituency, the roads should be constructed
like Katrina Kaif's cheeks," the minister jokes to the head engineer of
the Public Works Department present at the meeting.
It's nothing unusual for politicians to compare their ideal
highways to actresses' cheeks. Many people were irritated when RJD supremo Lalu
Prasad Yadav pledged to make Bihar's roads as smooth as Hema Malini's cheeks in
2005.
The audience claps and applauds, and Gudha repeats the
comment, eliciting even greater adulation from his followers.
The analogy was revived in 2019 by Madhya Pradesh law
minister PC Sharma, who stated the state's pothole-ridden roads would soon be
made "beautiful" like the 'Dream Girl' star's cheeks.
